Welcome to Hazel Grove Orchestra

Music Director: Mehrdad Bakhshayesh

Several HGO members took part in the National Youth Orchestra-led performance of ‘Ode to Joy’, which took place on Friday 17th April at 5pm, and featured musicians across the UK and even abroad, performing in their homes, at their windows and in their gardens.

We have decided to continue doing a weekly performance for our neighbours and ourselves – one that any other musicians can join in with. This Friday at 5pm, please play “Jerusalem” for your neighbours and even encourage them to sing along.  The suggested key is D major and one version can be found here.

We can follow it with Ode to Joy.  Orchestra members might like to propose new tunes for the future.  (Tip: in windy conditions you can use an ipad for the music.)

Performance update from Hazel Grove orchestra

We regret that due to the current situation with Coronavirus, our orchestral rehearsals on Thursday evenings are currently suspended. Our next concert, due to take place on Saturday 28th March, has been cancelled.

We would like to wish all of our regular concert-goers the very best, and we look forward to performing for you again in the future. Please do keep an eye on this website for updates.
